You take a breathe, and you can feel the tension roaring in your body. Your intercostal muscles are screaming at you. Every breathe you take is war. Your body aches. But the ache isn’t only physical.

You can feel yourself outgrowing everything. Your body, your environment, and your whole reality are changing. It is sad at times, like seeing a big hamster in an inadequate enclosure. Other times though, it’s exhilarating, like you’re just waiting to pop. To explode. To break free. You want more, and you can feel yourself ready for the next chapter. The discomfort is a part of the transition.
Many believe the key is to plan and then execute. But you’re stuck in the middle waiting for the “perfect moment.” You know there will never be one. You can make an excuse now, but there will always be excuses. These hesitancies hurt us because instead of executing and moving along in our growth, we fall into doubt or rumination. The aches are telling you what’s true, but we lie to ourselves because comfort is safer than the unknown expansion waiting for you. Your mind is so powerful that it can convince you to pursue your most unconventional dreams. Power works both ways, and unfortunately, many of us use our power to feed the insecurities, doubts, or past mistakes we made.
I used to be afraid too. I was afraid to make people upset or angry with my choices. I was afraid to disturb the fragile people around me. I didn’t want them to think I abandoned them with my choice of self. I cared too much about keeping the peace because that is what I was trained to do. I was scared to jump out of my former role, but I had to be uncomfortable to become me. I had to shed the layers of conditioning to find the way back to who I truly was. Once the disillusionment started to clear, the path back to myself became more visible as well. Though I do empathize with the people that have been affected negatively by my metamorphosis, I do not apologize for my voyage onward because it has been the most fulfilling adventure to date.

You should not be afraid to fall either. You can take a step off of the ledge, and yes, you could plummet. But you could also soar. You have the opportunity to fail, but you also have the equal opportunity to shine. You shouldn’t be afraid to fail because you’re actually really good at it. I know this because you’ve failed so many times before, but it was never the end. You reading this right now is proof you’ve persisted. You’ve felt the ground before, and you’ve gotten up each time. Some falls are harder than others, and you may have taken more time to get back on your feet, but the common denominator is that you’ve returned to pursuit every single time.
You will prevail through this season of transition, and I know this to be true because your inner compass has your soul’s best interest in mind. You have made yourself a priority, and your direction may be unknown, but your compass, your intuition, will guide you. You will prevail because you are building a faith that has gotten you through death, destruction, and the darkest times of your life. You will prevail because your power is directed towards your dreams. Knowing how powerful you are, you will not feed the doubts anymore. You are done giving energy to the dark; the only return you get is more doubt. You will starve the darkness. You’re still in the refining process, learning how to direct your power. Me too. The doubts still flutter in the back of your mind, but that’s all you will allow until they starve.
You need to take a step off the ledge in order to soar. To some, it may look suicidal or crazy, but that’s only because those people don’t have the tools that you have. They can’t choose to soar because they have made comfort with the ground. They think you can’t shine because they won’t even dare to try. Instead of getting up again like you do, they have married their angst, sadness, and pity. They have made friends with failure because they find comfort in the concrete. You, however, have felt the ground a plethora of times and have chosen to try again. You cannot take this for granted; you’ve fought too hard to get where you are to stop now. Just because you’re in a “good” position doesn’t mean you shouldn’t strive for more. Just because you are blessed doesn’t mean you should settle. You have grown too much to settle. You know the ground well, but it is time to explore the sky. Will you fall or fly?
Unconditionally,
